Fume Cupboards

The fume cupboards provided by ourselves and manufactured and type tested in accordance with BS 7258 : Parts 1 – 4 each having the option of the following benefits:-

• 1000mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, 1800mm or 2000mm wide units
• Vertical sliding sashes
• Work surface and services to suit customer requirements
• Acid / solvent storage facilities
• Stainless steel aerofoil sections

The fume cupboards provided for educational use shall be supplied and installed in accordance with “Building Bulletin 88 : Fume Cupboards in School”.

Refurbished Fume Cupboards

In some situations an existing fume cupboard can be upgraded by our company to an acceptable standard.

Fume Extraction Systems

The fume extraction systems are most commonly installed using UPVC or polypropylene material. We use preformed ductwork and fittings that are used on sizes up to and including 630mm diameter.

We also manufacture and install rectangular ductwork from sheet material either from UPVC and polypropylene.

All joints are fully fusion welded using hot air welding guns and where deemed necessary the ductwork can be GRP (glass reinforced plastic) coated on completion of the installation.

The extraction systems are provided complete with centrifugal fan units that are suitable for both single and three phase application. These fans can either be belt driven or ran indirectly drive via “V” belts and pulleys.

All fume extract system installations shall conform fully with the specifications contained within “DW / 151”.

Stainless Steel Extraction

We are also able to measure, supply and install a range of stainless steel ductwork serving various laboratory instrumentation machines such as AAS machines.

Air Input Systems

A considerable volume of air can be taken from the laboratory via extraction systems to fume cupboards.

It is imperative that the air is replaced within the laboratory via a “make – up” air system as this could lead to air starvation resulting in reduced performance and unsafe conditions.

We able to provide this full design and installation package including full air conditioning and various heated air input systems.
